You may have heard the rumors, you may have seen the preview on Open Evening…
The rumors are true - Ysgol John Bright will be investing into new platforms of ideas - YJB TV.
Why are the Digital Leaders talking about this?, you might ask. Well, we’ve been assigned the duty of designing the YJB TV Logo, and we’ve went on to designing a small animation to go along with it!
We might even show a quick sneak peak, but perhaps that can be for another time…

Recently at Ysgol John Bright, the Library invested into their own website which allows all of the YJB students to use the Library’s functions - anywhere in school! That’s right, you can check to see previous books you’ve loaned out, whether you have an outstanding book to hand in, write a review about a book you enjoyed or thought could use a bit of development, view a large range of books and you can reserve ones you like!
We’ll be helping the Library with this project by showing it to Year 7 & 8.
If you require any assistance with the Eclipse.net Virtual Library of YJB, simply find us in CF6 - any day of the week!

[Just a brief account of what the DL know about the Cardiff presentation, we’ll leave the major details for the trio.]
At 6 o clock this morning, Llandudno Train station had four passengers from Ysgol John Bright. (And no, it wasn’t escapee’s - John Bright has better security than that!) The three digital leaders, armed with their netbooks, and Mrs. Sian Longley, armed with her laptop and projector, embarked on a Train journey. Early awakening, they ventured to Llandudno train station and caught the Train to Cardiff. After passing here, and stopping there, the journey to Cardiff was over, but the adventure had just begun! And thats all from me, I’ll leave the main Bloggidy Blog Blog Blog to the Southwestern shenanigans!

Yesterday on the 3rd of October the Digital Leaders all had a conference with a man called Mr Atkinson. He taught us new technologies which could be beneficiary in school for the students and the staff. Some of the many technological advancements he showed us was Dvolver Movie maker; an animation you could create within a minute with a 2 person dialogue. He showed us many more, such as the iMovie application available on the iPhone and iPad. We gained much information from the conference and will be trying to persuade the teachers to allow us to use them in lessons.

On Monday the 26th, the Teachers got taught a lesson - literally! The Year 8 Digital Leaders [Grace, Stephen, Lauren, Kieran & James] led a 20 minute lesson teaching the English Department to correctly use Google Docs and a side order of the Calender. The lesson began when Mr Atkins and Mr Smith introduced the Digital Leaders. Then the other tutors, being Miss Simpson and Mr Minter, also gave them a lesson they won’t forget! The ICT guru Miss Whitehead was their guide as they ventured through the big scary ICT operated, Google Docs!!!

We will be releasing Posters to YJB within the next few weeks. You might also see us in your Assemblies advertising the Digital Leaders and where you can find us. Right now, we’re only going to be seeing Year 7.
On a side note, We’ve also got our own Logo! This means if there is any poster or anything released with the Digital Leader logo - You know we’ll be involved somewhere!!!
If a Digital Leader wants to post a blog message here, they’ll put at the end of the message their first name. That helps YOU guys know who’s saying what, and US know who’s been contributing to the Blog!

After a week of rushing to the ICT Department during Form time, the Year 7 students have been taught how to access Google Apps and have correctly changed their password. We might have a few extra classes, but the Year 7’s are out of the way [phew!].
